Crystal Falls Hiking Trail South of the Kingston and Greenwood Area
Crystal Falls is located on South of Greenwood on the South Mountain with the start of the trail on Harmony Road. To find it simply drive on Harmony Road until you reach Greenwood Rd. The start of the trail is on the south side approximately 100m past the end of Greenwood Rd.
The hike itself should take you between 45 minutes and an hour to complete. It is quite easy in nature with the vast majority of the hike taking place on what appears to be an old woods road. The last 100 meters or so where you have to travel off of the road down to Crystal Falls isnt exactly difficult but could be tricky if it was wet and slippery.
The trail has seen upgrades in the past few years after residents let politician Leo Glavine know about their concerns with regards to garbage and the bridge. Within a short period of time there was a new bridge in place and all of the garbage removed.
There is an area for camping near the base of the falls. However upon my last visit I noted a lot of broken glass around the fire pit and camp site area so be very careful.
Take your family out and go hiking in the Annapolis Valley. This is one of the hidden gems which could very easily be considered park worthy.
